14th of September.

We woke up and hit up Snuffers, a popular local burger joint. It was good, it had its own brands of T-shirts and plasma screens on every wall, which was a surprise because from the outside it was slightly derelict. This place wasn’t on Man vs. Food but the burgers were definitely good enough to get a mention, they haven’t made an episode about Dallas yet. I got an original burger and Paolo got a bleu cheese burger. The chilli cheese fries were huge and extremely heavy, its something that I wont be able to get used to.

Dallas aquarium is famous so we decided that we would take that in for the day. We were surprised how it was layed out. The aquarium was more like a zoo/safari, a lot of the animals weren’t actually in cages, the monkeys and birds were almost free roaming. They had a sloth just hanging above the walk way, we stood and just watched it moving in slow motion for about 15 minutes, apparently we were just lucky to see it awake because its only awake for 4 hours. There were piranha’s and sharks and manatee’s and everything thing you could possibly imagine.

After the Aquarium we wondered around the west end trying to find the place that JFK was murdered. We went into the 6th floor museum that gave the history of JFK and all the information about his death, including all the conspiracy theories, which I really didn’t have much of an idea about, it was a great education, it was a surprise to see how influential he was around the world and how much of an effect his death had.

It was around 4pm and we were not hungry because our breakfast was so large. We decided to go find a cinema to burn some time till we got hungry for dinner. We went to go see The American, it was ranked number one over labour day weekend here, it is the worst film that I have ever seen, absolutely nothing happens, the reviews raved about how it was Clooney’s best performance but it was an arty film were nothing happens the whole way through, we expected it to build to something but it really didn’t, it was the longest movie I have ever sat through, even when the film finished everybody was talking about how crap it was.

Paolo got his hair cut and I walked around the mall until he was done, then we went for dinner. Once again we went for Mexican food, we both had an epic sized salad with soup and it was one of the best Mexican meals I’ve had here, once again we called in the action of numerous margarita’s!
